White Noise Meditation
First of all, binaural beats is a scientifically proven technology that was discovered in 1839 by Heinrich Wilhelm Dove while he was a professor at the University of Berlin. He found that a "perception" of beats could be heard when slightly different frequencies were played to each ear.
Brainwave entrainment occurs when binaural beat encoded audio is listened to through headphones (so that the audio frequencies go to the appropriate ear). It takes about 5 minutes of exposure to the binaural beats for the human brain to begin following the frequency of the beats. This means that if you are listening to a 3 Hz Delta binaural beat recording, your Delta brainwaves will become stronger. Since Delta brainwaves are strongest when you are asleep, you should become drowsy as your brain "follows" the binaural beats.
Other frequencies can produce different effects. There is a table below that shows some of the uses for different frequencies. On the download page you can get free binaural beat mp3 audio samples, binaural beat videos for your iPod or try the "Theta Relaxation" video farther down on this page. Remember to use headphones for the binaural beat effect!
Any MP3 player such as the Apple iPod is ideal for listening to binaural beat encoded audio although a cd player or your computer with stereo headphones will work fine. Listening through stereo speakers will give you a sub-optimal session with possibly no effect whatsoever. You'll probably miss out and wonder what the big deal is.
"White Noise Meditation" albums are composed of the sounds of waterfalls, ocean waves, thundering rainstorms or relaxing music each with a background of pink noise encoded with the incredible binaural beat technology.
